Low Carbon Dorset is amongst leaders highlighted in this year’s national Green Energy Awards.
The three-year Low Carbon Dorset programme has been shortlisted for a prestigious Green Energy Award for its work supporting Dorset’s businesses, communities and public-sector to reduce their carbon emissions.
Low Carbon Dorset will be going up against the likes of Centrica, EDF and Solar Sense for best Clean Energy Scheme, one of the five categories in this year’s awards.
The awards are a leading national celebration of the innovative technologies, pioneering projects and inspiring individuals spearheading the transition to a more sustainable future.
More than 120 entries were submitted this year by organisations and individuals across the UK, this was then whittled down to just a handful of finalists in each category.
Low Carbon Dorset, along with the other shortlisted nominations, will now go through to the final stage of judging, where an expert panel of independent judges will select the winners who will be announced at an awards ceremony in Bath’s historic Assembly Rooms on 27 November 2019.
Merlin Hyman, chief executive, Regen, said: “We were excited to see so many strong nominations for the awards from inspiring people, great companies and pioneering projects at the forefront of the transformation to a zero-carbon energy system.”
