Last year we submitted a bid for more funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to extend our Low Carbon Dorset programme. We’ve now found out that we’ve been successful in securing an additional £5m!
Thanks to these extra funds from ERDF the Low Carbon Dorset programme will be extended for a further two years. Businesses, community groups and public-sector organisations will be able to continue to access free technical advice and grant funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects until Dec 2022.
Since our launch in April 2019, Low Carbon Dorset has given out 91 grants worth over £2m. And provided free advice to over 100 Dorset based organisations. This support has helped save just under 4,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
Over the next two years we hope to reduce emissions by a further 5k tonnes of CO2 and help fund the installation of another 5MW of renewable energy in Dorset.
