Well done to our #LowCarbonHeroes for getting their low-carbon measures installed and their grants claimed in time for our EU grant pot deadline.
Our EU-funded grant pot has now closed, but we continue to look for future funding to make new grants. We already have a small amount of funding secured to continue offering free technical advice beyond March 2023; we expect this to be available for SMEs and Community Groups in the Dorset Council area and more details will be published shortly on how to access this.
We will announce any updates on technical advice or grant funding on website and social media channels, so please stay connected for updates.
If we are successful in securing a future grant pot, we cannot currently confirm how this will operate as it will depend on the funder(s). Any new grant fund could be smaller than our previous pot and have different eligibility criteria. As a result, competition will likely be high and eligibility restrictions could mean funding is only available for certain sectors.
We therefore recommend exploring the business case for your energy efficiency and renewable energy project ideas, without our grant funding. The estimated financial paybacks could mean you can save more on energy costs by acting soon, rather than delaying your project to see if we announce grant funding. You may find you’re able to install some of the low carbon measures now, and work on financing the remaining measures later. Our technical advice can help you understand quotes and predicted outputs/savings.
There might also be other grant funds or loans that could be appropriate for your low carbon project. We cannot endorse particular schemes, but you may find useful information via the following services:
