We are delighted to announce that Dorset Council has successfully secured funding from the UK Government to continue the Low Carbon Dorset programme. This extra money means we can carry on offering free energy efficiency, renewable energy advice and grants to help organisations reduce their carbon footprints.
This support is available to local businesses, public-sector organisations, and community groups in the Dorset Council area to help them take steps to improve energy efficiency, install renewable energy, and save money on bills.
Since our launch in April 2018, we’ve given out 210 grants worth over £6m and provided free advice to over 550 Dorset based organisations. This support has helped save just over 16,000 tonnes of CO2 a year and generate nearly 13MW of renewable energy in Dorset.
Running until March 2025 we hope to help further reduce emissions, support the installation of more renewable energy, and continue to provide valuable free advice to organisations in our county.
